Advanced Technology Lens Implants

Multifocal Lenses

Seeing distance, intermediate and near—with a single lens.

Seeing clearly for both distance and reading; life without glasses is something most have dreamed about for most of their lives or were able to do at a younger age. During cataract surgery with our doctors, your natural, cloudy lens is removed and replaced with a new, implantable intraocular lens (IOL). The latest advances in premium IOL technology can restore clear vision for distance and near following cataract surgery.

Where your grandparents had the choices of bifocal or trifocal glasses, today’s multifocal IOLs provide the same vision correction without the maintenance necessary when relying on corrective glasses or contact lenses. our doctors utilize all of the technologies available to create a custom lifestyle treatment depending upon your visual needs.

Some of the lenses we choose from to help reduce your dependence on glasses include:

  • • Tecnis Symfony
  • • Tecnis Symfony Toric
  • • Tecnis Multifocal
  • • PanOptix Trifocal
  • • Synergy
  • • Trulign Toric

At Ophthalmology West Eye Care there is an option to help turn back the clock and greatly decrease or eliminate your dependence on glasses compared to standard or monofocal IOLs.

Astigmatism Correcting Lenses

Astigmatism correction in an implantable lens.

During cataract surgery with our doctors, your natural, cloudy lens is removed and replaced with a new, implantable intraocular lens (IOL). A standard IOL implant will restore ActiveFocus your vision, but it doesn’t correct astigmatism, a form of visual distortion that is caused by the shape of your eyeball. If you have astigmatism and you get a standard IOL implant, you will still need glasses for all of your activities. At Ophthalmology West Eye Care, our cataract patients with astigmatism are offered a Toric lens to correct this condition.

The Toric IOL is designed to correct larger amounts of astigmatism and is aligned to negate astigmatism at the time of cataract surgery. With a Toric IOL, we are able to provide sharper vision and less reliance on glasses at a distance.
